Milton Mathis, Convicted Killer, Executed In Texas Despite Evidence Of Retardation

I'm sorry but I don't get this barbaric position. When ur executed by a state ur in a room, on a flat not so uncomfortable table, ur laying down strapped of course. One probably feels on the pinch of the needle and if the execution is carried out properly (as it is in most of the cases) you almost feel nothing while u go. Now lets rewind to the crime that got u there.... you obviously took someones life, probably in a very gruesome heinous way where they felt lots and lots of pain or if they're alive are not living a life anyone would choose to live. So what exactly is barbaric about the death penalty or the way it's carried out? Personally I think the capital crimes rate would drop if states made it clear the punishment was death nd didn't waver in executing those who commit such crimes. Isn't it a better punishment rather than have them enjoy the life that they took from someone else? Besides they wont get raped or beaten in prison.
