He was responding, clearly he wasn't looking for a way to simmer things down. Yes she was absolutely wrong and insanely stupid for what she did but he could have simply thrown her out without hitting her or radioed and unruly passenger so he cud drop her off with the cops or something... there are so many ways this could have been taken care of. If we all go about hitting everyone who pisses us off however much they do how do you think life would be. And he's elderly! hasn't learned the value of patience all through his life! Now his 22 year career is at stake because he allowed a little 'demon' get the better of him.
